Shady Hill Farms, Ltd. Announces its 2009 Private Treaty Flock Reduction Sale Starting August 15, 2009 at the Farm

Weíve lost our full time sheep help, and have reluctantly decided to scale back our flocks of Polled Dorset and Suffolk sheep dramatically. In recent years, we have retained all of the best lambs produced each year as replacements, and our flocks have improved and expanded.We have retained all of the best of the best sheep and genetics.

We have culled hard, all sheep with known problems have left the farms. We are working very hard with these sheep, and are preparing them for breeding season as we would be if we planned to retain and lamb out all of them. The fact is that we now have many more sheep than we are prepared to handle, so we are offering these sheep for sale at private treaty starting August 15, 2009.

This is truly a once in a lifetime offering of elite genetics. We are prepared to breed purchased sheep as requested by the buyer, and for the sheep not sold when we would breed them we will do our best to breed the sheep for the coming lambing season.

Many of the Dorsets were exposed to lamb in October and again in December. These sheep are priced to sell, call Ben Calkins now at 440 796 4592 as they will sell first come, first served.

Volume discounts will apply and transportation can be arranged to most parts of the country.

• Polled Dorset rams (one yearling and many lambs)

• Polled Dorset ewes (brood ewes, yearlings and lambs)

• Suffolk rams (lambs)

• Suffolk ewes (brood ewes, yearlings and lambs)
