Community Education and Youth Development

• Ben Calkins is a Member of the Harvard University Club of Northeast Ohio.  As a Member of the Schools & Scholarships Committee, Ben Calkins interviews applicants to Harvard College and awards the Harvard Book Prize at schools throughout Geauga County, Ohio.  As a member of the Crimson on the Cuyahoga Committee, Ben Calkins works to provide summer employment opportunities for Harvard College students.  Formerly, Ben Calkins served as President of the Club.
• Ben Calkins is a Member of the Michigan Alumni Association.
• Ben Calkins is Advisor to the Geauga Livestock 4-H Club.
• Ben Calkins is Marketing Chairman of the Great Geauga County Fair’s Livestock Sales Committee and initiated the Committee's marketing brochure.
• Ben Calkins formerly was founder and Treasurer of Friends of Newbury Schools.
• Ben Calkins formerly was founder of the Newbury Education Foundation.
• Ben Calkins formerly served on Strategic Planning Committees for both the West Geauga and the Newbury Local Schools.
  Ben Calkins formerly served on the Citizens League of Greater Cleveland’s Task Force on Educational Governance.
